Qnext for Windows

Run on Maemo (n900)?. Just interesting to know, how to launch that in command line (with 'java'). As a java application, that should be runnable, say, on n900 (using java's implementation there). Would be good to see how to launch and, next, sure, what will be the functionality. Pros: java ('platform indepenent') Cons: There is no real 'platform independence' (for a 'lay user', at least) since the launch of java classes is done through platform dependent executables.Huge size of the application files (what is that so big there hidden?)

Great File Sharing Instant Messenger But Bulky. Qnext used to be my favorite Instant Messenger before Pidgin, DIgsby, and Trillian Astra were released. No Instant Messenger has as power file sharing/transfer than Qnext. The problems with Qnext are plentiful as well. It's a serious resource hog as well as the fact it's huge file size. There are also ads in the newer versions of Qnext which really bother me when Trillian, Pidgin and Digsby don't show ads and are like 1/5th the file size of Qnext.With all the free alternatives that are more resource friendly and smaller in size, it's hard to recommend Qnext anymore. However if File Sharing/Transfer is your main thing, then feel free to give Qnext a try. Pros: Powerful File TransferFree Cons: Resource HogFile Size Is Huge In Comparison To CompetitorsAds

Qnext is the future of IM. I downloaded Qnext by happen chance. I travel A LOT for my job and I like to be able to see and hear my wife at night so we tried a bunch of the various IM's out on the market. All of them were lacking in the main department that I wanted, teleconference. We were always having problem with the more basic ones like MSN, Yahoo, and AOL but then I decided to try out Skype and it was so bad we actually went to using our cell phones. That was a pain.I decided to start looking and try out other IMs and I found Qnext first and I'm glad I did. Not only is the teleconference aspect of the program bar none outstanding, the zones was a HUGE draw for me. I listen to a lot of music that you can't just stream in or hear on radio stations (a lot of it is Irish based music and last checked over 60GB and roughly over 10K songs) as well as I have a collection of 400+ movies on an external HDD attached to my home network.It is so nice that I can stream my own music when I'm traveling or download the movie that I want to watch and it takes at most 10 minutes. I get back to the hotel, start my songs up (which I have play lists for), pick and download the movies I want to watch that night, take a shower and I'm all set to start watching movies.The fact that I can also IM people that are still on MSN, Yahoo, etc is also a huge plus, but I'm still working on getting them all converted to Qnext. Pros: Just about everything about it. It is extremely easy to load and to run. Cons: I wish there were more skins that I can download, I wish that there were better ways to find local people on Qnext, maybe offer communities for Qnext users.

Qnext 2.3. Qnext is worth downloading, if only for IM. The other services (File Sharing, Photo Sharing, File Transfer, etc.) are free.
